The Brno Museum Night is part of the Museum Night Festival organized by the Czech Association of Museums and Galleries with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. It takes place with a financial support from the City of Brno and with a crucial contribution by the Brno Public Transport Authority which provides free transport of visitors to the exhibition buildings outside the city centre.

Špilberk Castle
The permanent exhibitions will be open to visitors.

In the Grand Courtyard of the castle a “Baroque Fete” situated roughly in the mid-17th century will take place from 18.00 to 00.15 hours, including historical music and singing, jugglers, historical fencing, fire-eaters and soldiers from the time when Brno was under siege by the Swedish troops:

In all courtyards Baroque markets with historical goods, refreshments and crafts.
An ensemble of the Theatre of Music and Poetry AGADIR will perform in the Gothic Hall in the Small Courtyard .
Competitions for children will be held in the casemates, during which the visitors will meet soldiers from the castle garrison played by members of the REX group and will be able to hold various objects from the time of the Brno siege by the Swedes. In the western part children can take a ride on horses and ponies.
The southern terrace of Špilberk Castle will be transformed into an observatory with astronomical telescopes from the Nicolas Copernicus Observatory and Planetarium with a view of the night sky above Brno. The castle tower will resound with tower music performed by the Moravské žestě ensemble and the castle wine cellar will offer wine tasting organized by the Moravská banka vín.
